Everything you need to know about expansion into APAC (but were afraid to ask)
Free resource library launched by UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme to help scaleups capitalise on demand for UK innovation
UK tech scaleups can find out about the technologies most in demand in the APAC region and how to take their first steps towards business success, thanks to a new online library of free workshops and reports from the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme.
UK tech is in high demand in APAC, driven by the need of global corporations to secure or regain their global competitiveness, with particular interest being shown in quantum computing, AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, environmental monitoring and space technologies.
Topics including ‘Taking your first steps in APAC’, ‘Navigating Asian business cultures’ and ‘Securing the deal’ are explored by experts working on-the-ground in the region in the interactive workshops, available to view at any time. They provide practical advice on the development of fruitful business relationships and also explore essential aspects of establishing and running a business in the region.
Also included in the new library of resources is a series of market reports detailing the openings for UK tech scaleups in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. Each report outlines the state of the market and its key players, describes the opportunity areas and provides guidance on market entry strategies.

This library is provided by the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme, which helps high-growth technology companies to explore and secure the commercial opportunities in 11 APAC markets: South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. Companies can apply to participate here.
In addition to educational resources, the Programme offers a range of free and subsidised services to participating companies. These include consultation sessions with market experts; opportunities to pitch technologies to Asian corporates; and ‘Business Development Initiatives’ - outreach programmes that enable participants to identify and meet qualified potential customers and partners in an APAC market.
The UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme is delivered by international business development consultancy Intralink.
Jeremy Shaw, who heads the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme at Intralink, said: “The UK technology sector leads in Europe and ranks third only behind the US and China on the global stage. This success is fuelled by collaboration and partnerships with international companies and, while breaking into APAC markets can seem daunting, the opportunities they present are immense. The free resources now available from the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme will help tech scaleups gain an insight into their prospects in the APAC region and learn how they can transform them into firm deals.
“We urge those who see synergies between the innovative technologies they’ve developed and demand in APAC markets to register for the Programme so we can provide the advice and practical support they need to ensure their businesses can capitalise on the opportunities on offer.”
