Innovation in Public Services Week #techUKPSInnovation
This week 28 June - 2 July techUK’s Central Government Programme is running our Innovation in Public Services Week #techUKPSInnovation. This week we aim to explore the technologies that technology companies can deploy to support our public services. It provides our members and stakeholders the opportunity to look in depth at the vital, innovative role they can play in the transformation and delivery of public services.
A different theme has been assigned to each day of the week; and we will be hearing thoughts from both SMEs and large companies their visions for future public services and the innovative technologies that can make those visions a reality. We are also exploring the importance of collaboration between SMEs and large companies, and as we look towards what we hope will be the end of the pandemic, exploring how the tech industry can continue to support public services in a post-COVID world.
Take a look at all of the guest blogs and insights from members and stakeholders below.

To serve citizens better, improve outcomes, and deliver more value for money, the UK has to accelerate the transformation of public services through the smart application of digital technology. techUK aims to lead debate on new technologies and provide a forum for government to engage with tech suppliers. We help government access leading industry expertise at an early stage in tackling challenges, and help our members improve their understanding of government requirements.
Ellie Huckle
Programme Manager, Central Government, techUK
Ellie joined techUK in March 2018 as a Programme Assistant to the Public Sector team and now works as a Programme Manager for the Central Government Programme.
The programme represents the supplier community of technology products and services in Central Government – in summary working to make Government a more informed buyer, increasing supplier visibility in order to improve their chances of supplying to Government Departments, and fostering better engagement between the public sector and industry. To find out more about what we do, how we do this and how you can get involved – make sure to get in touch!
Prior to joining techUK, Ellie completed Sixth Form in June 2015 and went on to work in Waitrose, moved on swiftly to walking dogs and finally, got an office job working for a small local business in North London, where she lives with her family and their two Bengal cats Kai and Nova.
When she isn’t working Ellie likes to spend time with her family and friends, her cats, and enjoys volunteering for diabetes charities. She has a keen interest in writing, escaping with a good book and expanding her knowledge watching far too many quiz shows!
