Welcome to techUK's Data Analytics Week 2021
Over the past 18 months data analytics has played a huge role in the way we’ve adapted and responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. In some cases, the government and public services opened up datasets to the private sector for the first time. In other instances, we experienced individual public services pool their datasets, allowing for more sophisticated data analysis.
So this year, in addition to highlighting some of the most successful, recent data analytics tools, projects and services, we will focus on the next steps needed to ensure we continue to address existing fundamental data governance issues, such as data quality, availability, and interoperability, to ensure the value and potential of data and data-driven technologies is fully realised.
Throughout the week we will explore what good quality data looks like (including the applicability of kitemarking initiatives) and determine how innovative forms of data sharing can be scaled effectively and responsibly. We will also provide commentary on how these case studies can be applied to other sectors that are currently behind the adoption curve, to ensure all UK organisations are making the most of the data analytics tools and technologies that’s available to them.
Over the coming days, our members and other industry experts have contributed blogs on data analytics in four key sectors:
