Laurence Liew

Director of AI Innovation, AI Singapore

Laurence Liew is a pioneering figure in Singapore's AI landscape who serves as the Director of AI Innovation at AI Singapore. With over 30 years of experience in technology leadership, he drives national initiatives that are transforming Singapore into a leading AI-First nation.

Laurence is the architect of several groundbreaking programs, including the 100 Experiments (100E) program connecting AI researchers with industry partners, and the award-winning AI Apprenticeship Programme (AIAP) developing Singapore's AI talent pipeline. His LearnAI initiative has successfully exposed over 200,000 Singaporeans to AI education.

Internationally, he co-chairs the Global Partnership on AI's (GPAI) Innovation and Commercialisation Working Group, focusing on AI adoption by SMEs globally. His expertise has led multiple countries to adopt AI Singapore's programs through the AIAP-X initiative.

Previously General Manager at Revolution Analytics (acquired by Microsoft), Laurence brings rich experience in high-performance computing and AI implementation. He is the author of "AI-First Nation: A Blueprint for Policy Makers and Organisation Leaders" and is a sought-after speaker who makes complex AI concepts accessible while offering practical insights for organizations navigating their AI transformation journey.

Nimmi Patel

Head of Skills, Talent and Diversity, techUK

Nimmi Patel is the Head of Skills, Talent and Diversity at techUK. She works on all things skills, education, and future of work policy, focusing on upskilling and retraining. Nimmi is also an Advisory Board member of Digital Futures at Work Research Centre (digit). The Centre research aims to increase understanding of how digital technologies are changing work and the implications for employers, workers, job seekers and governments.

Prior to joining the techUK team, she worked for the UK Labour Party and New Zealand Labour Party, and holds an MA in Strategic Communications at King’s College London and BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Manchester. She is currently taking part in the 2024-25 University of Bath Institute for Policy Research Policy Fellowship Programme.

Nimisha Tailor

Author, The Female Digital Revolution

Nimisha Tailor is a competition and regulation specialist with international experience. She has advised large tech companies, central banks, think tanks and international organisations in the areas of digital finance, digital trade, data governance, e-commerce and logistics. She has worked on consulting projects in Asia Pacific, United States and Latin America and brings a gender lens to digital policies and regulations. Previously, she was Deputy Director at the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore and has worked at competition authorities in United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia (secondment).

Nimisha is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders and mentors young female professionals and university students, globally and regionally. As a mentor for the NexGen Keynote Women Speakers programme, she has supported talented women to make impactful speeches on stage by drawing on her public and private sector work experience.

Nimisha served in the UK Government Economic Service and has a MSc degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Nimisha is the author of "The Female Digital Revolution" published by Penguin Random House SEA. She is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders and in her spare time mentors university students planning their careers and support mid-career professionals.
