The NHS England Genomic Medicine Service (Interoperability team) will
be hosting a Connectathon at techUK on January 15th 2025.
The purpose of the Connectathon is to test the NHS Genomics FHIR Implementation Guide (IG), and its implementation via the Genomic Order Management Service FHIR API, to share test requests, status updates and genomic test results (unstructured PDF) via a central broker. This reflects the scope of the NHS England Genomics Unit Order Management project, whilst in its current Alpha phase. The core broker enables communication of tests(requests, updates and results) based on specified FHIR standards to facilitate communication across organisational boundaries.
We invite suppliers in the healthcare space to contribute and provide feedback to this end. During the Connectathon, suppliers will connect to the core broker and test
the end-to-end workflow (both submission and ingestion of FHIR payload data), based on scenarios provided. Suppliers will also be able to test submission of their own examples, using guidance provided within the Genomics FHIR IG.
Kick off session (18 December 2024)
