Call for submissions: Nations and Regions Impact Day – West Midlands

We will be highlighting the contributions made by the UK tech sector to improve the local and regional tech ecosystems, playing a vital role in the levelling up agenda through innovation and engagement.

Our West Midlands Impact Day takes place on 4 December 2024.

Please submit content showcasing your projects and partnerships in West Midlands, how they are making a difference, contributing to the digital economy and strengthening the local tech ecosystems.

All techUK members and stakeholders can submit one or multiple contributions based on their work, projects or programmes in West Midlands.

The deadline for submissions is 25 November.

If you would like to contribute to our campaign week, please email [email protected] to let us know the piece's title by 18 November, to ensure we can schedule this in our content calendar.

Your content can respond to the questions below:

  • How are you strengthening the tech sectors in West Midlands?
  • How can we collaborate more efficiently to drive innovation in West Midlands?
  • What success stories would you like to highlight that show the growth of the tech ecosystems in West Midlands?

We welcome a variety of formats so that you can decide what would best fit your company. Here is what you can submit and some guidelines:

Blogs

These will be published on our website as an insight page.

  • Between 600 – 1,000 words long 
  • Can include images, infographics and videos/vlogs (see below guidelines about submitting vlogs) 
  • Add links throughout your text 
  • Download our blog submission form here (instructions here), fill it in and submit.

Vlogs 

These will be published on our website as an insight page. 

  • Between 3 to 6 minutes  
  • YouTube link or MP4 file 
  • Title for the video and any intro text 
  • Examples: #1 

Video Statements 

These will be published on our social media channels primarily and spotlighted on our campaign week page. 

  • Create a 30 to 90 seconds (max 2 min) speaking to camera video, responding/expanding to 1 of the following questions/topics:
    • How are you strengthening the tech sectors in Wales and Northern Ireland?
    • How can we collaborate more efficiently to drive innovation in Wales and Northern Ireland?

For further examples of content we can showcase you can check out here the campaign week for the launch of the Local Digital Index in October 2023.

The Local Digital Index report analyses the strength on the tech sector across the UK in fields such as digital skills, digital infrastructure, finance and investment and digital adoption, as well as making recommendations for how the tech sector can be strengthened across the entire UK.
