Eve Roodhouse, Chief Officer, Culture and Economy, Leeds City Council
Eve leads on Culture and Economic Development at Leeds City Council. Her portfolio is wide ranging spanning everything from oversight of Leeds Museums and Galleries through to visitor economy, international relations, economic policy, employment and skills and business support.
Eve is tireless in her pursuit of supporting people and businesses in Leeds to thrive. Since joining Leeds City Council in 2018 she has spearheaded the delivery of the City’s Inclusive Growth Strategy introducing pioneering work in a range of areas including the Leeds Inclusive Anchors Network, the Social Progress Index and the delivery of our vision for innovation.
Prior to joining Leeds City Council in July 2018, Eve worked at NHS Digital for 15 years on the delivery of complex and large scale IT change programmes including the first Prison Health IT system in England and the Child Protection Information Sharing Project. Eve applies her extensive experience of the tech sector in her approach to culture and economic development ensuring that Leeds City Council is proactive in working with partners on key areas including digital skills and data ethics.
Eve is a member of the Leadership Group of the Chamber of Commerce, a Board member of the Leeds Digital Ball and of WILD (formerly known as Women in Leeds Digital).
Richard Stubbs, Chief Executive of Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber
Richard Stubbs is Chief Executive of Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber, working with the NHS, academic partners, and health innovators to support the transformation of health and care delivery through innovation. Richard is also Chair of the national Health Innovation Network, bringing together all 15 health innovation networks across England to deliver national impact.
Richard has an established track record of bringing together sectors and regions to accelerate the role that technology and life sciences can play in improving patient care, whilst also championing how increasing economic growth contributes to better population health outcomes for communities. In addition to his role as Chief Executive of Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber and Chair of the Health Innovation Network, he holds several varied non-executive and voluntary roles.
As a long-standing member of the NHS Assembly, a board member of NHS England’s Accelerated Access Collaborative, a member of the NIHR Strategy and Engagement Board and the Innovation Ecosystem Programme Advisory Group, Richard is passionate about driving policy level changes which will best enable the NHS to adopt innovation for the benefit of patient care, in addition to developing a clear blueprint for how the NHS can best support, and benefit from, a strong life sciences ecosystem.
In 2022, Richard created the new national Innovate Awards to recognise and reward health innovators across the NHS and industry, in partnership with the NHS Confederation.
